Jack E. Maddox

Funeral for Jack E. Maddox, 84, of Hartselle was Thur., Oct. 18, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson and the Rev. Mason Booth officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mr. Maddox died Tues., Oct. 16, 2012, at his residence. He was born March 20, 1928, in Morgan County to Atticus Golson Maddox and Gladys Ann (Breedlove) Maddox. Mr. Maddox was a member of the Neel United Methodist Church and a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1952. He served as a Morgan County Commissioner of District #2 from 1967 until 1979 and was a beef cattle farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Jane Maddox Wooten, Mary Agnes Maddox Graddick and Imogene (Tot) Maddox Hays.

The Family wishes a special thanks to Dr. John Irle, Hospice of the Valley, Linda Hill, Mary Letson, Jennifer Warren, Carrie Orr, Evita Williams and Louie and Maxine Sanford for their loving care.

He is survived by his wife, Eloise Tanner Maddox of Hartselle; two daughters, Annette Sledd and husband Jim of Huntsville and Jan Patterson and husband Larry of Hendersonville; a sister, Sue Humphrey of Hartselle; and three grandchildren, Hannah Sledd, Jonathan Sledd and Jim Loos.

Pallbearers were Terry Cole, Bro. Jack Bailey, Larry Patterson, James Sledd, Jonathan Sledd and Jim Loos.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley or to Neel United Methodist Church.
