Quilt donated to raise money for SNAP
A queen-size quilt made by Mary Ann Howse of Hartselle has been donated for a fundraiser for the John Mark Stallings Special Needs Accessible Playground (SNAP).
The quilt, “Home is Where the Heart Is,” will be on display in front of the depot during the Depot Days Festival on Saturday. Donations of $5 each will be accepted for a chance to win the quilt at a drawing to be held at the Hartselle Christmas Parade in December. In addition, anyone who donates $20 or more will be eligible to win either an Alabama or Auburn lap quilt.
The quilt features bright colors with hand appliqued animal characters and buildings. Howse said she started the quilt about a year a half ago with the idea of donating it to the SNAP project.
Donations of $5 each are being accepted by any member of the SNAP Committee, or you may call Laverne Foster at 256-303-0474.
