Funeral for Elna Tanner, 89, of Falkville will be Wed., Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Redmond officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Wed., Aug. 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery.

Miss Tanner died Sun., Aug. 19, 2012, at Summer-ford Nursing Home Home. She was a graduate of Auburn University and the University of Tennessee. She was a former teacher at Falkville High School and worked for 37 years with the Alabama Cooperative Extension Program. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world and was a devout Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents and four of her siblings, Carmon Tanner, Cleo Blackwood, Cecil Tanner and Lois Childers.

She is survived by a sister, Eloise Maddox and husband Jack of Hartselle; a sister-in-law, Wilda Tanner; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
