S.W.A.P members enjoy catfish dinner in Decatur

Can you believe that it’s time for school to start. Where has the summer gone? I’m sure it will be hard getting back into the swing of things. Take time to enjoy the last few days of the summer with your children before school starts back.

Elaine Perry, VBS director of New Center Baptist Church would like to thank everyone who helped with the VBS this year.

On Thursday evening, S.W.A.P. (Seniors with a purpose) took a road trip to McCollum’s Catfish and Seafood Restaurant in Decatur. Those enjoying the food, fun and fellowship were: Marie Bartlett, Sherry Moore, Lynn and Royce Goree, Larry and Sandra Raper, Cecil and Judy Berry, Lorene Oden, Lyle Caswell, Sarah Rob-inson, Stephanie Fields, Jashan Strain, David and Beth Lewis, Charles and Evelene Teague, Lou and Anne Heth, Bill and Mary Montgomery, Joe and Tiny Hollis, John and Barbara Hawkins, Nathan and Javon Alldredge and Terry and Donna Tanker-sley. Everyone enjoyed a good meal and fellowship.

Congratulations to Frank and Linda Hanners on the birth of their great granddaughter, Addison Kate Jones. She was born on July 31 and weighed 8 lbs., 5 ozs. Addison is the daughter of Tyler and Nina Hanners Jones and the granddaughter of Felton and Pam Hanners.
