Several golfers from Hartselle completed the first round of the 67th State Junior Championship at Mountain Brook Club.

In the 12-13 division, Jordan Hartsell had 40 on the front nine and 39 on the back nine for a 79, which puts him in tie for ninth alongside Decatur’s John Reese Hamn. They trail Isaac Alexander of Florence and John Racciatti Jr. of Fairhope by just four strokes.

In the 14-15 division, Jake Tiffin of Hartselle rallied from a 42 on the first nine holes to shoot 36 on the last nine for a 78. He’s seven shots behind Jake DeZoort of Tuscaloosa and Patrick Martin of Birmingham, who both had 71.

Aaron Compton of Hartselle also had an 89 in the 16-18 division, which is being led by Forrest Gamble of Birmingham with a 65.
