New Center News

I know you’ve heard the saying, “The best things in life are free.” To an extent, we all may believe that. I tend to think of another saying, “The best things in life aren’t things.” So many times we get wrapped up in material things that we lose value of family, friends and our faith. These should be what matters to us most. It’s not what we hold in our hands but what’s in our hearts. Christian love and sympathy to Kenneth and Betty Selby on the loss of Kenneth’s aunt, Edna Lemons; to Martha Roberts, Jim and Pam Roberts, Drew and Garrett, in the loss of their husband, father and grandfather, Doyle Roberts; to the family and friends of Guy Bowling; to Mike Johnson and Dewayne Keel, Faye Dutton, Teresa Lackey, Doug Keel and Kasonyia Briggs in the loss of their dad and step-dad, Velvert Johnson. Wednesday night, July 11, New Center Baptist Church approved Bro. Brandon Starnes as their new youth minister. Welcome to Bro. Brandon and his wife, Dana, who will begin serving on July 29. Happy birthday to Robert Hopper, July 25; Elizabeth Chisgar, Sarah Mize and Rachel Berry, July 26; Bobby Bean, Marsha Barton and Micah Long, July 27; Cindy P. Shaw and Reagan Lewis, July 28; Loyd Sullivan, July 29; Ellie Blackwood and Dot Ledlow, July 30; Craig Knox, July 31. Happy anniversary to: Danny and Loria Allen, July 26; Ricky and Cindy Lackey, July 27, Corey and Charlotte Doshier, July 28; Mark and Diane Hatfield, Ray and Regina Long, July 30; Charles and Maxine Lang, Bro. Ben and Paula Bates, July 31.
