Falkville couple faces drug charges

Decatur Police Department has arrested and filed charges against a Falkville couple in connection with a home burglary at 1407 7th Ave. SE, Apt. C, in Decatur on June 25.

Facing multiple charges in connection with the crime are Tammy Leeann Pentecost, 39 and Christopher Charles Hill, 29, both of 748 Pleasant Hill Rd., Falkville.

Pentecost is charged with the unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance 1st degree, obstructing justice using a false identity, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia, Hill is charged with the unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were placed in Decatur City Jail where they will be held until bond is set.

According to a Decatur police report, officers responded to a burglary in progress at 1407 7th Ave. SE, Apt. C shortly before 11 p.m., When they arrived they found Pentecost and Hill in the apartment.

While talking to the couple, officers detected a strong chemical odor and upon investigation discovered an active one-pot methamphetamine lab in the residence. Drug paraphernalia was also found.

The police department’s Organized Crime Unit and Decatur Fire and Rescue were notified. Subsequently, they conducted the decontamination of Hill and Pentecost and also conducted a cleanup of the chemicals in the apartment.
