Hartselle still shows hospitality
Dear Editor:
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Celebrate Hartselle rally on March 17th. The attendance of over 300 citizens showed the importance of keeping our community dry and preventing the negative impacts alcohol could have on our city.
We especially want to thank Chelsea Wellman, Anna Craig, Charles Balcom and Chloe Carpenter, Marley Carpenter, Devin Hale, Katie Sloan and Ruth Marie Johnson for using their outstanding talent to entertain us at the Celebration. It is encouraging to see people use their talent to promote our community.
We were glad to honor Tom and Edith Bennich, Jim and Janice Corum, Clif and Geanell Knight, Dee and Betty Proctor, Bill and Sandra Smelser, Virginia Ann Stewart and the late Frank Stewart, Earl and Chris Warren for their leadership in helping shape Hartselle into the community that we know and enjoy today. Our aim is to follow their example and stand for those who have been affected by liquor and and alcohol and to continue to promote safe economic progress for our community.
We also want to thank the staff of the civic center for their excellent cooperation. We appreciate Jay Lawrence and his team at Professional Series Concert Sound. They went the extra mile to provide a high quality sound system. We appreciate each person who worked to set up for the Rally and clean up afterwards – the Rally would not have been possible without you.
May we continue to have the peaceful community we enjoy today., One that seeks to protect our valued community identity and heritage through sensitive and consistent development practices.
Sincerely,
Mike Holmes
