Nancy Mildred Partlow

Funeral for Nancy Mildred Partlow, 95, of Falkville was Thur., Feb. 2, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral  Home Chapel with Dr. John Russell officiating.

Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Partlow died Mon., Jan. 30, 2012, at Falkville Healthcare Center. She was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Springville, Miss. to Thomas Ridley Crawford and Eulale Wright Crawford. She was a former teacher for Pontotoc County Schools in Mississippi and owner-operator of the former Falkville Telephone Company.

After receiving her teaching certificate at the age of 17, she began teaching at a junior college in Mississippi. After her marriage to William Harrison Partlow, they became owners of the Lincoln Telephone Company in Alabama and in 1959 relocated to Falkville and became owners of Falkville Telephone Company, which they  operated until 1963. She was a member of Falkville United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Thomas Wayne Partlow; a sister, Kathryn Crawford; three brothers, Maurice, William Cecil and Thomas Lamar Jack Crawford; two sisters-in-law, Monnie and Beatrice Crawford; and a son-in-law, William Robert Winkles.

She is survived by three sons, Donald Lee Partlow and wife Sandy of Hartselle, Robert Allen Partlow and wife Trish of Mobile and Phillip Gerald Partlow of Falkville; three daughters, Billie Sarah Laney and husband Hal of Danville, Nina Katherine Winkles of Falkville and Elizabeth Anne Vinzant and husband Robert of Trinity; a stepson, Harry Alvin Partlow and wife Barbara of Hot Springs, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons and honorary pallbearers were great-grandsons.

The family extends special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Amit Vora and employees of Falkville Healthcare.
