Ronald Nathaniel New

Funeral for Ronald Nathaniel New, 61, of Hartselle was Tues., Jan. 10, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Joey Coots ad Michael Cowley officiating.

Burial was in Bethsadia Baptist Cemetery in Cullman County.

Mr. New died Sat., Jan. 7, 2112, at his residence. He was born Apr. 3, 1950, in Blount County to Nathaniel Junior New and Audice Ward New. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army with the rank of Sergeant (E-5), serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was the recipient of seven medals including the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and loved to help people in any way he could.

He is survived by his wife, Pam New of Hartselle; two sons, Shane New and wife Shana of Cullman and Shane Bryant and wife Tina of Baileyton; a daughter, Lindsey New Rogers and husband Tyler of Decatur; a sister, Carol Twitty and husband James of Hanceville; 11 grandchildren, Te’a Koch, Oliver Bryant, Dylan Bryant, Zeke Sides, Hunter New, Hailie New, Gracie Rogers, Carter Rogers, Heather Simmons, Wade Rickard and Michael Rickard.

Pallbearers were Tyler Rogers, Shane Bryant, Josh Wallace, Brandon Flowers and Tommy Farris.
