ACE alcohol proposal to be discussed tonight

Hartselle City Council will discuss whether it wants to keep language that promotes the sale of alcohol sales during its work session tonight.

When the strategic plan was submitted to the council, it included a recommendation to promote alcohol sales for retail economic development.

At its Oct. 10 work session, Council President Pro-Tem Mark Mizell said he recommended that the council table any action on this matter until the first council meeting in November when the all five council members can be present at a meeting. Council President Kenny Thompson and Councilman Don Hall both missed meetings in October.

“I think we should have everyone here before we make a decision on this issue,” Mizell said then.

City Planner Jeremy Griffith also added that he would like to have the committee members review any revisions to the plan before it is passed.

Here are the items on tonight’s agenda:

1. Ordinance 1362 – Annexation – Indian Hills Road (Colvin) (Introduction only)
