Funeral for Raybon Van Johnson, 72, of Decatur will be Sat., Nov. 5, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cameron Douglas officiating.

Visitation will be Sat., Nov. 5, from1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson died Wed., Nov. 2, 2011, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Oct. 23, 1939, in Morgan County to Lester Lee Johnson and Mary Christine Moore Johnson. He was a member of First Christian Church of Decatur and he loved his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an instrument technician and a tankerman. After his discharge, he worked at the former Monsanto Company in Decatur as an instrument technician. He was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Carlene Hall and Margie Jennings.

He is survived by his wife, Demaris Johnson of Decatur; three sons, Carl Johnson of Clearwater, Fla., Steven Johnson of Buffalo, N.Y., and Joe Shaw of Hartselle; two daughters, Beth Shaw Davis and Lisa Speegle, both of Hartselle; two brothers, Kenneth Wayne Johnson of Somerville and Harold Johnson of Hartselle; a sister, Brenda Alvis of Hartselle; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
