Pines Baptist plans VBS July 10-15

I hope everyone had a very nice and blessed Fourth of July weekend.

Madge Schofield visited with Vickey Daugette on Saturday.

Pines Baptist Church invites everyone to attend vacation Bible school July 10-15. The theme this year is “Shake It Up Café.” The kickoff will be on July 10 at 6 p.m. with daily sessions following at 9 a.m. through the 15th.

Somerville Assembly will host a gospel singing on Saturday, July 9. Featured singers will be Glen Free, Charles Free, Dinky Free and Freddy Childs. Snacks will be served afterwards. Pastor Jacob Daugette and members of the congregation invite everyone to attend.

Louis Daugette took his grandmother Vickey Daugette out to dinner on Friday in honor of her birthday.

Bro. Robert Dempsey was guest speaker at Somerville Assembly on Sunday night.

The youth at Somerville Assembly will sponsor a big yard sale at Bro. Jacob Daugette’s home on Sat., July 9, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The location is Highway 36, one mile east of Highways 67 and 36. The youth will also be selling grilled hot dogs and drinks. For more information, call 256-621-0292.

Pastor David Taylor and congregation invite you to an old-time baptism at Johnson’s Landing on the Tennessee River in Valhermoso on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.

A prayer meeting and Bible study will be held at the old fire station near Somerville town hall each Friday at 6 p.m.

An outdoor musical concert is held on the old Somerville Courthouse square each Tuesday at 6 p.m. The public is invited.
