The Freeman house is progressing

Oden Ridge news

Last Monday morning the news was really bad. We had the TV news on because of storm warnings. We also heard all the world news. Now Libyan people are fighting to overthrow their leader. This is one reason we can be thankful to live in the U.S. I am talking about  the way our government is set up.
If our government becomes a threat to our country, he can be voted out, or in other words, he can be impeached. Of course, there are things our government does we don’t like but all in all we are blessed.
You would like to think all these smart people in our country, in other words, could figure out how to run things better.
Our president doesn’t think all the answers. He has advisors who he talks everything over with before he decides something. All these fancy speeches we hear are written by someone else with his help and approval of course.
Our health care and insurance plans are sure in a mess. The over the hill gang  is really having it rough. For instance we found out we have to pay before our Medicare and stuff kicks in and pays. It’s hard for us to do this much less that little old lady from Pasadena who doesn’t get enough to live on anyway.
Well, we have vented about our government enough. Thank God we still have freedom of speech!
We send our prayers out to Christine Kinney, Josie Nuby and Horris Hudgins, who lost their sister Irene McKee last week.
Also the Childers family lost their sister Wilda Childers Pouzar. Our prayers are with the family.
We were very proud to hear Ermond Lindsey finally got his new hip replacement. Mary Alice was so proud. He walked to the car and into the doctor’s office It was the first time in six months he could walk.
Ruby Oden had surgery on her foot or toe. She has had an infection and they had to remove the first joint on one of her toes. She is so thankful to Bobby and Pat Beavers for taking care of her and Hubert who isn’t doing too good either.
Chad Ward was in a bad Motorcross wreck in Georgia recently. He is doing fine and was at church Sunday with his family.
My husband Al has been real sick this past week. He is still not feeling well. Remember him in your prayers.
I also heard from Lorene Dunlap. Some of her family has had the flu. She has been having a time with allergies. Otherwise she is doing good.
It makes me feel good to watch Anthony Freeman’s little house going up over here because it’s his dad Bill, Mom and wife who is helping build it. I know they will be happy to get it finished. Anthony recently retired from the military.
Happy late birthday wishes to my dad, Donna Hillyer, on the sixth. Also, my sweet granddaughter, Cierra Kinney Allen will celebrate her birthday on St. Patrick’s Day the 17th.
Little Brice Hale will celebrate his birthday on the 18th. His parents Felisha and Chris will celebrate their anniversary on the 17th, too.
