Journey Church hosts Valentine party Saturday night

Oden Ridge News

I am very sorry I haven’t written the news for a while. I guess I got off track. There seems to never be that much good news and people don’t call me. I just got the winter blues or cabin fever and I’m sorry.
I think everyone feels like me. Spring can’t get here fast enough. Usually our temperate climate lets us have some warm sunshiny days so that we can get out and work in the yard and go for walks and such. This winter hasn’t let up at all.
Usually by my birthday on Feb. 2nd some of my daffodils and crocus are blooming. I have seen one little crocus bloom and my daffodils are just starting to peek out of the ground.
My granddaughter, Alissha, planned a birthday party for me on Sunday before my birthday. It was held at Husky Park. The weather cooperated and we had a very good time. Of course I got some nice presents and had a great time but I’m still 59 and holding. As my granddaughter Nikki says – for a long time.
Margaret Weaver had knee surgery recently. She is doing well and is out and about and walking good.
Jim Campbell is not doing too well so we need to put him and Louise on our prayer list.
Also, another friend, Mildred Wigginton, has had triple bypass surgery. She is at home and not doing that well. So pray for her too.
Ruby Oden has been ill with breathing and other problems. Please pray for her and Hubert.
We had a miracle in our family. My little 12-year-old grandson was to have open-heart surgery. A group of heart specialist ran tests and decided to operate. Since it was a valve that would not close properly they went in through his groin to check it out before the surgery. Meanwhile, the entire extended family and friends were praying. When they went in, there was nothing wrong. This is a child who has had heart problems since birth. So miracles do happen! His name is Titus Archer – keep him in prayer – a beautiful child with awesome red hair.
Last Friday I enjoyed spending the day with an old school friend, Elizabeth Wood. She is home and out of rehab. She has lots of health problems so she is bed ridden. Please pray for her.
Journey Church is having a Valentine party on Saturday, Feb. 12th. Everyone is invited. It is $15.00 for each couple.
