Lila Roberson Nickens

Funeral for Lila Roberson Nickens, 81, of Hartselle was Saturday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Charles Brown and Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Nickens died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at her residence. She was born July 17, 1927, in Morgan County to Virgil Moss Roberson and Mary Inez McRight Roberson. She was a member of West End United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Nickens and a son Johnny Nickens.
She is survived by a son, Britt Nickens and wife Freda of Hartselle; two daughters, Vennessia Orr and husband David and Lynn Thompson and husband Eddie, all of Hartselle; a sister, Clara Harris of Decatur; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; and two step-great-granddaughters.
Pallbearers were John David Orr, Allan Orr, Daniel Sparkman, Chase Nickens, Mike Elliott and Glen Posey.
Honorary pallbearers were David Orr Jr., Jackson Orr and Sawyer Smith.
