Gary Lamar Hampton

A memorial service for Gary M Lamar Hampton, 63, of Danville will be Thursday (today), Jan. 22, at 10 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Elder officiating.
Mr. Hampton died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at his residence following a long illness. He was born April 17, 1945, in Pulaski, Tenn. to Earl Hampton and Ruby Hawkins Hampton. He was retired form BP/Amoco and Pig Stand Barbecue. He was an avid fisherman and his greatest job was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Gary Lamar “Marty” Hampton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Roberts Hampton of Danville; a son, Brian Hampton and wife Karen of Hartselle; three daughters, Terri Vassar and husband Joey, Mandy George and husband Jimmy and Nikki Curtis, all of Danville; a brother, Perry Hampton and wife Sherry of Caddo; a sister, Patricia Foster and husband Ben of Haleyville; 11 grandchildren, Abby Nagel, Levi George, Gracie George, Cal George, Haley Curtis, Morgan Vassar, Tyler Vassar, Tiffany Hampton, Olivia Hampton and Mallory Hampton; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of North Alabama or a favorite charity.
