Vassilevska, Williams wed
Dr. Virginia P. Vassilevska and Dr. Richard “Ryan” Williams were married Sept. 6, 2008, at Princeton United Methodist Church in Princeton, N.J. with Rev. Jana Purkis-Brash officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Drs. Panayot and Tanya Vassilevski of San Ramon, Ca. and is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Spiro Vassilevski of Varna, Bulgaria, Genka Kostova of Sofia, Bulgaria and the late Dr. Valcho Kostov.
The groom is the son of Glenn and Teena K. Williams of Somerville and the grandson of Elizabeth L. Kelly of Decatur, the late Rev. Jasper Kelly, Faye Williams of Somerville, and the late Harold “Buddy” Williams.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her mother and father.
She wore a white spaghetti-strap mock two piece gown with beaded embroidery, corset bodice and A-line draped skirt. She wore lace elbow-length gloves from Bulgaria given to her by her mother.
She carried a bouquet of pink roses, pink alstroemeria, purple butterfly aster and purple limonium.
Maid of honor was Elisabeth Crawford of Sydney, Australia. Bridesmaids were Gina Williams Roose of Birmingham, sister of the groom and Jialan Wang of Boston, Mass. Tawny Buckelew of Eva was the guest book attendant.
Best man was Josh Harrison of Seattle, Wash. Groomsmen were A.J. Williams of Somerville, brother of the groom, and Alex Vassilevski of Sofia, Bulgaria, brother of the bride.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the Main Street in Princeton, New Jersey by the groom’s parents and a reception was held at the Doubletree Hotel in Princeton by the bride’s parents.
Several Bulgarian and American traditions were observed.
After a wedding trip to St. Thomas, the couple resides in Princeton, New Jersey.
The couple was honored with several prenuptial events, including:
Hostesses for the reception were Marjorie Halbrooks, Mary Ann Ford, Charlie Holland, Kathy Holland, Betty Dunn, Martha Sharp, Gina W. Roose, and Dr. Rita Patton.
Mattern, Evans exchange vows
Lisa Mattern and Bob Evans were married recently in Sedona, Az.
The bride is the daughter of Randy and Cindy Mattern of Reedsville, Penn. The groom is the son of Fred and June Evans of Falkville.
The couple resides in Phoenix.
