Brewer wins 13th in row

GRANT - Brewer won its 13th straight game to claim the DAR Christmas Tournament championship last week.
The Lady Patriots used a balanced attack to pick up the 54-33 win over DAR in the final.
Kendra Jones scored 19 points for Brewer, while Morgan Crawley pitched in with 12 points. The Lady Patriots’ Heather Steelman finished with eight points and seven rebounds, while Krista Hughes had seven points and five steals.
Brewer has not lost since the opening game of the season.
Brewer 82, Scottsboro 46
Emily Dabbs had five 3-pointers as Brewer hammered Scottsboro 82-46 in the semifinals.
Dabbs finished with a team-high 21 points for the Lady Patriots.
Kendra Jones added 11 points, while Morgan Crawley finished with 10 points in the win.
Brewer also got eight points each from Elizabeth Bromirski, Hannah Crawford and B.J. Scott.
Brewer 74, Locust Fork 43
Kendra Jones scored 19 points and finished with 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Patriots to an easy win over Locust Fork.
Emily Dabbs scored 16 points for Brewer, while Chelsey Smith and Heather Steelman finished with nine points and eight points respectively for the Lady Patriots.
Hayden Christmas Tourney
Keila Hamlin scored a game-high 24 points to lead Priceville to a 52-46 victory over Arab in the championship game of the Hayden Christmas Classic.
Presley Darling and Melissa Johnson scored nine points each for the Lady Bulldogs, who improved to 10-8 with two wins in the tourney.
Darling added 10 rebounds, while Johnson finished with eight rebounds. Amber Smith also had eight rebounds for Priceville.
Priceville 66, Corner 50
The Lady Bulldogs advanced with a 16-point win over Corner in the first round.
Keila Hamlin scored 17 points for Priceville, while Callie Cox added 14 points.
The Lady Bulldogs also got nine points from Chanel McLendon.
Jim and Nick’s Classic
Walker 49, Danville 47
Danville battled back from a slow start in the championship game in Jasper, but was unable to complete the rally.
After trailing by 11 early in the game, Danville closed to one in the final seconds before losing 49-47.
Kayloni Cross led Danville with 16 points. Ashley Nance and Lacey Evans added nine points each.
Danville 45, Hueytown 38
Ashley Nance picked up a double-double in the Lady Hawks’ 45-38 victory over Hueytown.
Danville trailed going into the final quarter of play before rallying by holding Hueytown to just four points in the final period
Nance scored 18 points and pulled down 20 rebounds for Danville - her ninth double-double of the season. Kayloni Cross added 15 points.
Sophomore point guard Lacey Evans had six assists and Hannah McClung had four steals.
Danville 48, Gardendale 43
Ashley Nance and Kayloni Cross scored 15 points each for Danville in a win over Gardendale in the first round of the tournament.
Lindsey Simmons added eight points.
Cross also had six steals for the Lady Hawks.
The Lady Hawks shot 62% (21-for-34) from the floor, including 12-of-17 in the second half.
Danville forced 38 Gardendale turnovers in the game.
Cummings Sports Christmas Tournament
Priceville 59, Cold Springs 56
Priceville edged Cold Springs 59-56 in double overtime behind a late bucket from Tyler Croft.
The Bulldogs trailed by six points at the half before rallying to force the game into overtime.
Jacolby Reed scored a team-high 16 points in the win.
Croft finished with 11 points for the Bulldogs.
Holly Pond 52, Priceville 48
Holly Pond handed Priceville a 52-48 loss at West Point High School.
Jacolby Reid finished with 11 points to pace the Bulldogs. Brock Boyd and Kristian Barker added nine points each.
Priceville 57, West Point 55
Jacolby Reid scored 21 points, including the game-winner in the final seconds, to lead Priceville past West Point 57-55.
Kody Smith and Brock Boyd both scored 11 points for the Bulldogs.
