Fourth graders take center stage to entertain their families

By By Clif Knight, Hartselle Enquirer
More than 80 grandparents of children attending Danville-Neel Elementary School were treated to 40 minutes of fast-paced entertainment, goody bags and refreshments at a Grandparents Day Program last week.
The program was presented by Jane Knight’s fourth grade class and arranged under the direction of McKayla Stover, music director.
Students performed acting and dancing skits based on what was popular in the 1950s and 1960s.
A “Visit from Elvis” with Jake Burkett as Elvis-the impersonator—opened the show with a thunderous applause. He was accompanied on stage by singers/dancers Easton Hess, Lane Crowe and Zach Baker.
Other skits were performed with actors as follows: “Dance Like It was in 1959” – Savana Bullard and Abby Smith; “Get Up and Dance” - Khi Mause, Garrett Mason and Justin Greenhaw; “Disco Fever” - Susan Fuller; “Can You Still Move?” - Drew Fitzgerald and Colton Spinks; “A Little Older, A Little Better” - Brendon Casteel and Zach Tennant; “Bunny Hop” - Savannah Moore, Scarlett Shipley, Brooklyn Thomas a, Morgan Weatherwax and Karlie Pike.
Following the last act, grandparents were presented goody bags and invited to stay and help themselves to finger food and punch.
