Elva Ludie Huskey

A graveside service for Elva Ludie Huskey, 97, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Reggie Corum officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Huskey died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at her residence. She was born Feb. 25, 1910, in Arkansas to Tom Pettit and Ada Mae Barnes Pettit. She was a member of Westview Church of Christ in Hartselle. She was well-known for her cakes at her business, Huskey Cake Shop. Mrs. Huskey was preceded in death by her husband, Audie Mae Huskey; a daughter, Ludie Mae Brown; her brother, Booth Pettit; and five sisters, Vernie Dunn, Rowena Allison, Roberta Compton, Marie Bowlin and Gladys Powell.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Frances Spivey of Decatur and Kathryn Jean Smith of Hartselle; a sister, Mildred Pack of Athens; six grandchildren, Judy Montgomery White, Jimmy Brown, Jeanette Groover, Vicki Carter, Kathy Henley and JoAnn Sturms; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
