Funeral for Mavo M. Mayfield, 89, of Decatur was Saturday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. at Autumnwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Orville Collins officiating and Ridout’s Brown-Service directing.
Burial was in Basham Cemetery.
Mrs. Mayfield died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Feb. 11, 1917, in Morgan County. She was retired from Goodyear in Decatur. She was a lifelong member of Summit/Autumnwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bowman Mayfield; a son, Ronald Mayfield; a daughter, Helen Legg-Bain; a granddaughter, Theresa Blaxton; and a great-grandson, Trent Zanda
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Adamson, Barbara King and Rhonda Bogle; a son, Teddy Mayfield; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons Steve Legg, David Legg, Blake Sandlin, Chris Gulley, Brandon King and Mark Mayfield.
