Matthews, Sparkman to wed
Carolyn Matthews of Danville announces the engagement of her daughter, Katie Ann Matthews, to Jeremy Keith Sparkman, son of Dan and Cindy Sparkman and Don and Mickey Swanner, all of Hartselle. Ms. Matthews is also the daughter of the late W.L. "Chip" Matthews.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Danville High School and Athens State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She is pursuing a master's degree in education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is employed with the Morgan County Board of Education as a second grade teacher at Falkville Elementary School.
She is the granddaughter of Ret. Lt. Col. and Mrs. W.L. Matthews of Valley Head and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Fitzgerald.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Hartselle High School and Athens State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is employed with Lamar Advertising as an account executive. He is the grandson of Roylean Lewis and Freda Sparkman, both of Hartselle, the late Charlie Lewis and the late Pruitt Sparkman.
The wedding will be June 17 at 5 p.m. at the Huntsville Museum of Art.
Brown, Harper to wed June 3
Lee and Betty Brown of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Allyson Rena Brown of Panama City Beach, Fla., to Wesley Michael Harper of Panama City Beach Fla., son of Mike and Linda Harper of Dothan.
The bride-elect is a 1993 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2002 graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in public relations.
At AU, she was a member of Chi Omega sorority.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Edward Huffman of Shelbyville, Tenn., Mrs. Beula Brown of Decatur, the late Edward Huffman and the late JC Brown.
The groom-elect is a 1996 graduate of Dothan High School and a 2001 graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He is the grandson of Earlene Sewell Efurd and Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Harper Jr., all of Dothan, and the late Rudolph Sewell.
The wedding will be held June 3 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church of Decatur.
Moore, Gorham to wed May 13
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Moore of Eva announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Diane Moore, to James Phillip Gorham Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James Phillip Gorham Sr. of Opelika.
The bride-elect is a graduate of A.P. Brewer High School and will graduate this August from Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in interior design. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Patton of Eva, Katherine Moore of Vinemont and the late Connie Moore.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Opelika High School and is employed with Grisby Siding and Gutter.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lyn Coggins and Mrs. Jack Gorham, all of Opelika, and the late Mrs. Jack Gorham.
The wedding will be held May 13 at 5 p.m. at The Huntsville Botanical Garden.
Standridge, Kelley to wed
Mike and Treva Minor of Hartselle and Greg Standridge of Decatur announce the engagement of their daughter, Tori Danielle Standridge, to Michael David Kelley, son of Ralph and Sherry Kelley of Fayette.
The bride-elect is a 1996 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2002 graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in criminology. At AU, she was an Auburn Tigers Soccer Sweetheart, served on the Rape Awareness Board, was a Kappa Sigma little sister, and a Safe Harbor volunteer. She is employed with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Department.
She is the granddaughter of Charles B. Martin of Decatur, Lee and Christine Standridge of Decatur, Jean Minor of Hartselle, and the late Daphyne "Mer" Martin.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Huberville High School and attended Bevill State Community College. He is employed with the Vernon Police Department. He is the grandson of Imogene Hollingsworth of Fayette, the late Gus Hollingsworth and the late Arley and Beatrice Kelley.
The wedding will be held May 19 at Opryland Hotel in Nashville.
White, Blackwood to wed
Steve White of Hartselle and Kim White of Decatur announce the engagement of their daughter, Kyla Lee White, to Houston Bryant Blackwood, son of Tony and Janet Blackwood and Myra Blackwood, all of Hartselle.
The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of East Lawrence High School and the University of North Alabama with a bachelor's degree in social work. At UNA, she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. She is employed with New Day Senior Healthcare of Hartselle. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Jenkins of Decatur, Kenneth Hollis of Moulton, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon White.
The groom-elect is a 1999 graduate of Hartselle High School and the University of North Alabama with a bachelor's degree in education. At UNA, he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He is a teacher at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Frost of Moulton, Mr. and Mrs. Rayburn Randolph of Decatur, and the late Mrs. and Mrs. Arlin Lockwood.
The wedding will take place June 17 at 6 p.m. at Coby Hall in Florence.
Stephenson, Hines to wed
Chris and Renee Stephenson of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Christen Renee Stephenson, to Christopher Phillip Hines, son of Phillip and Julia Hines of Hartselle.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2006 graduate of Athens State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She is the granddaughter of Euel and Ramona James of Hartselle and the late John Lee and Mary Stephenson.
The groom-elect is a 2001 graduate of Hartselle High School and is a prospective 2006 graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a degree in electrical engineering. He is the grandson of the late Jesse and Dovie Hines and the late William Ellis and Lamode Rose. The wedding will be held June 17 at 6 p.m. at Hartselle Church of Christ.
