Holland L. Compton

Funeral for Holland L. Compton, 81, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), July 21, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Hines officiating.
Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
Mr. Compton died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at his residence. He was born May 12, 1924, in Morgan County to Fredric Holland Compton and Maude Pearle Whittle Compton. He was a member of Hartselle Church of Christ. He worked as a computer analyst with U.S. Navy and retired in 1974 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Lions Club, Toastmasters Club, Virginia Beach Auxiliary Police and the Police Association of Virginia. He was a part-time watchmaker and a real estate agent in Norfolk, Va. Mr. Compton was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Euclid Compton and Robert "Bob" Compton; and two sisters, Mary Evilo Compton Crandall and Margaret Anne Compton McPeters.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie F. Compton of Hartselle; one son, David Kelly Compton of Virginia Beach, Va.; three daughters, Luvenia Lee Compton Kelly and husband Redden of Swansboro, N.C., Donna Jean Compton of Lower Lake, Calif.; and Claudia Jean Compton and husband, Thomas Itsede, of Decatur; two sisters, Freda Elliott Adams Compton of Imperial Beach, Calif., and Telete C. Swander of Hartselle; two granddaughters, April Kelly and Cindy Kelly; and two grandsons, Malachi Compton and Thomas Itsede.
Pallbearers will be Don Wear, Ed Monroe, Guy Brown, Cecil Cole, Wayne Hicks and Bobby Fox.
Honorary pallbearer will be Clarence Walls.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Alabama or to the Hartselle Church of Christ Building Fund.
