Sherman Leroy Talley

Funeral for Sherman Leroy Talley, 81, of Decatur was Wednesday, April 20, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Tony Pope officiating.
Burial was in Bell Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Talley died Monday, April 18, 2005, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born May 8, 1923, to Sherman Robert Talley and Ida Josephine Hardin Talley. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in Africa. He retired from Wolverine Tube in 1985 after 31 years of loyal service. Mr. Talley was a member of the Northport Church of God in Northport. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etoile Downs Talley; and two sons, Jerry Talley and Rickey Talley.
He is survived by two sons, Dean Talley and wife Linda of Kalamazoo and Jimmy Talley of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Faye Wallace and husband Michael Jackson of Decatur; two brothers, Auther R. Talley of Northport and Melvin J. Talley of Cullman; one sister, Ruby Cleary of Northport; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
