Hartselle Junior High School sixth grade students recently enjoyed a beautiful fall day at Hartselle's Tabernacle exploring and learning with teachers and local experts.
Students, parents and volunteers learned about the history of the Tabernacle with Grad Tanner, creative writing with teacher Jan Thompson, making watercolors with teacher Karen Wingenter, animals tracks with wildlife expert Chris Keenum, the cotton industry with Larry Bennich, water quality testing with Marshall Carter and Bo Bohannon, forestry with Don Kimberly, and survival training with coach Shane Alexander.
Students took a break from their hands-on learning activities to enjoy a leaf scavenger hunt with teacher Debbie Smith and storytelling with Ann Rabb of Birmingham. Everyone was treated to snacks, lunch and a musical presentation by Johnny Whitley and Company at the annual event.
