Forum set for city candidates

Local voters will get their chance to hear from candidates in the up-coming election at next week's Municipal Election Forum.
The event is sponsored by the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce and will be held Aug. 16 at Sparkman Civic Center. Events will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a candidate "meet and greet" followed by the forum at 6:30 p.m.
Following an introduction from each candidate, each will be asked three questions generated by representatives of the Hartselle Enquirer and Decatur Daily. Each candidate will then be given three minutes to summarize their position.
Candidates will be sequestered until their turn to answer questions.
The three mayoral candidates will answer questions first, with each candidate going in alphabetical order. Questions to council members will follow, in order of place being sought.
All candidates who have qualified for office have been invited to participate. They are:
Election day is Aug. 24.
