Funeral for Don M. Rollins, 73, of Hartselle was Tuesday, May 18, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with the Revs. Jeff Redmond and Brooks Barkley officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Rollins died Sunday, May 16, 2004, at Montclair Baptist Medical Center. He was born May 21, 1930, in Morgan County to William Harvey Rollins and Dicie Itera Shipp Rollins. He was a life long member and active deacon of First Baptist Church. He was manager of Ideal Laundry in Hartselle and Decatur for 20 years. He then went on to work for the State of AlabamaVocational Rehabilitation with employment placement for the blind. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a very active supporter of the Hartselle and Lawrence County Athletics. He was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Wayne Rollins and Michael Don Rollins.
He is survived by his wife Betty Pettey Rollins of Hartselle; one son, Tony Rollins of Boaz; one daughter, Terri Pugh and husband Mike of Moulton; six grandchildren, Maegan Garmany and husband Mike, Melissa Rollins, Elizabeth Rollins, Joshua Rollins, Chris Pugh and Mathew Pugh.
Pallbearers were Max Merrill, Gail Dunn, Rod Harrell, Guy Shipp, Alex Whetstone and Clif Knight.
Mr. Rollins died as a result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident that occurred March 31, therefore memorials may be made to Mothers Against Drunk Drivers or Hartselle First Baptist Church of Hartselle Building Fund.
