Helping others

Church reaches out to community
Staff Reports, Hartselle Enquirer
First Assembly of God in Hartselle will join other Assemblies of God churches across Alabama on April 3 in a statewide effort to tell communities how much they are appreciated.
"We want our church to be seen as a giving church," White said. "So many times people see the church as an institution that only receives, but we want our community to know that we are here to give, as well as receive."
The congregation will be distributing soft drinks, donated by Pepsi Cola, and light bulbs, donated by Hartselle Wal-Mart, and offering car washes and yard cleaning, all free of charge.
Look for members between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at intersections, on sidewalks, door-to-door, and many public places where the goods and services will be offered.
"We are accepting no donations or tips this day," White said. "It is our day to give back and to express our appreciation to the wonderful people who make up this fine community."
For more information, call the church office at 773-8880.
