Dorothy Hazel George Byassee

Funeral for Dorothy Hazel George Byassee, 77, of Decatur, was Thursday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Nix and Mike Legg officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Byassee died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Dec. 20, 1925, in Morgan County to Ezra "Neely" C. Geroge and Rutha Belle Lake George. She was retired as a sitter and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was the widow of Jimmy Eugene Byassee; the mother of the late Larry Dillehay and William Byassee and the sister of the late Robert George and Billy George.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Metzger and Winona Legg, both of Decatur; one brother, Lamar George of Hartselle; one sister, Catherine Jones of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jimmy George, Greg George, Stanley George, Bert Prater, Jerry Faulkner and Larry Metzger.
