Juvenile arrested for string of robberies

By Staff
Staff Reports, Hartselle Enquirer
A Saturday traffic stop in Priceville ended in the arrest of a juvenile Hartselle police believe is responsible for a series of robberies.
Priceville Police stopped the juvenile for a traffic violation and discovered several stereos. According to officers, the juvenile said he had stolen the stereos from Hartselle.
Hartselle Investigator Anthony Fetner responded to the scene and questioned the subject for several hours.
The juvenile allegedly confessed to four auto burglaries that occurred on Aug. 29 in Hartselle.
The subject also allegedly confessed to stealing a car from Roberts Auto Sales in August and said he had taken part in an attempted motorcycle theft in Hartselle.
The subject was turned over to juvenile authorities and later sent to a facility in Tuscumbia.
"This was a big break for our department and more arrests are expected," Fetner said. "I would like to commend Priceville Police Department Officer Rick Williams. This is a prime example of what a routine traffic stop can accomplish."
