Funeral for David O. Sims, 62, of Hartselle, was Monday, Aug. 25, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Carson Fagan and Billy Jack Shaneyfelt officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Sims died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born March 29, 1941, in Morgan County to Lewis Leon Sims and Ruthie Orr Sims. He was of the Baptist faith. He was self-employed as a carpenter working in Hartselle and Morgan County for more than 40 years. He was the father of the late Timmy Sims and the brother of the late Ralph Sims.
He is survived by his wife, Alenda Sims of Hartselle; one son, Bryan Sims of Hartselle; one daughter, Betty Lynn Sims of Jasper, two sisters, Rachel Ward and Betty Ruth Mahaffey, both of Hartselle; and three grandchildren, Keith May, Shelby Sims, and Shea Sims.
Pallbearers were Dale Ward, Keith May, Bob Hall, Ronnie Miller, Ivan Self and Michael Johnson.
