Funeral for Charles Edgbert Poole, 79, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), May 8, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Hartselle with the Rev. WG Henry officiating.
Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Poole died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Morgan County to Alvin Hugh Poole and Elsie Lee Moore Poole. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hartselle for 29 years. He served in the United States Army during World War II, was a veteran of Foreign Wars, was a member of the American Legion of Hartselle Post 52 and a member of Southeastern Fly Wheelers Antique Engines. He was the father of the late Jeffery Alan Poole.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Thompson Poole of Hartselle, one son, Doug Poole of Danville; one brother Alvin Leon Poole of Jasper; two grandsons, Steven D. Poole and Michael A. Poole; one granddaughter, Christyn D. Selby; four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steven Douglas Poole, Michael Allen Poole, Sammie Selby, Steven Craig Poole, Burton Marsh and Harry Houston.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ernest Ray Sunday School Class of the First United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hartselle Building Fund.
