Brewer picks up two wins, one loss

The Brewer Patriots snapped a five-game losing streak with a 14-0 win against Hayden, and went on to defeat West Point 5-0.
Brewer lost last Tuesday to Oak Grove.
The Patriots had a 7-9 record following the loss to Oak Grove.

Brewer's seventh-inning rally fell short, as Oak Grove beat the Patriots 10-7.
Tony Drinkard suffered the loss, allowing eight runs on eight hits in just four innings of work. He struck out five.
Brewer fell behind 9-2 through five innings, and 10-3 heading into its last at bat. The Patriots plated four runs in the bottom of the seventh, but could not equal Oak Grove.
At the plate, Drinkard went 3 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Sam Mason went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
Tim Metzger, Wesley Cooper and Matt Eslick also had one hit apiece.
Oak Grove racked up 11 hits and also benefitted from five Brewer errors. Josh Vines led the way, going 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs.
"It looked like we had better things on our minds," head coach Barry Kirby said. "I guess the (spring) break had us thinking about things other than baseball."

Sam Mason and Tony Drinkard combined for a no hitter, as the Patriots beat West Point 5-0.
Mason pitched five innings, walked two and struck out seven, while Drinkard had a clean slate through two innings and struck out six.
Tony Parise went 2 for 3 with a double, while Tim Metzger went 1 for 4 with one run scored and two RBIs.
Both Mason and Jason Barrett had one hit apiece.

Brewer snapped a five-game skid by blasting Hayden 14-0.
Wesley Stump proved too much for the Wildcats, allowing just two hits through five inning, while striking out six.
Jared Widner went a perfect 3 for 3 with two runs scored, while Tony Drinkard went 2 for 3 with a double and home run. He scored a run and knocked in three more.
Stump helped his own cause by going 2 for 3 with a double, while Sam Mason, Tim Metzger, Matt Eslick and Lyle Cardwell all had one hit apiece.
