Pinewood Derby winner advances to state

Matthew Tucker, right, first place winner at the Hartselle Cub Scout Pinewood Derby on Jan. 28, entered the Arrowhead District Pinewood Derby that was held on March 24. The Arrowhead District is made up of Cullman, Lawrence, Limestone, and Morgan Counties. His “Speedy Penguin” won second place at District for speed (averaging 212.3 mph) and sixth place at District for design. He will now go to the state competition to be held in Birmingham on May 12. He is shown with Will McIntyre.
