Watson to attend West Point seminar

Matthew Watson, a junior at Hartselle High School. Has been selected to be among 1,000 attendees at West Point’s Summer Leaders Seminar in June.

The seminar offers outstanding highs school juniors the opportunity to experience life at West Point, N.Y. They live in cadet barracks, eat in the cadet mess and participate in academic, leadership, athletic and military workshops. The one-week seminar was designed to help juniors with their college-selection process, while giving them an idea of the importance of leadership and sound decision-making in their education, careers, and lives in general.

Watson was also recently chosen as one of two students from his school to serve as a Daikin American ambassador to Japan this summer. The other student is Caitlyn Beard. Dennis Willingham will serve as a chaperone.
