Priceville man charged with shoplifting at Walmart

A Priceville man is facing charges of robbery after being accused of shoplifting merchandise at Decatur’s Walmart.

On April17 at 3:40 p.m., Walmart employees attempted to stop a suspected shoplifter after he attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise that he had concealed. A struggle ensued when the employees attempted to stop the suspect.

An off-duty investigator with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department observed the commotion and assisted the employees with stopping the suspect. A Walmart employee sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Carl Edward Deleo III of 1498 Hwy 67 in Priceville was arrested and charged with robbery in the third degree.

He was transported to the Decatur City Jail and booked. Deleo was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
