Hoyt Ray Roberts

Funeral service for Hoyt Ray Roberts, 51, will be Sat., March 17, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steven Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., March 16, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Roberts died on Tue., March 13, 2012 at Huntsville Hospital.  He was born Feb. 6, 1961, in Morgan County to Otis and Geraldine Roberts, who preceded him in death. Mr. Roberts was a member of Lawrence Cove Baptist Church and worked for Daniel Smith Logging Company. He was a loving man who loved working outdoors and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Jean Dempsey-Roberts of Eva; a daughter, Lisa Michelle Roberts and husband Bobby of Eva; three stepsons, Ronnie Dempsey and wife Linda of Denver, Colo., Tony Hoskins and wife Charlene of Athens and Terry Hoskins  and wife Jeanette of Somerville; a stepdaughter, Tonya Duke and husband Lee of Decatur; three brothers, Buddy Roberts and Otis Roberts, both of Hillsboro, and Edward Roberts of Oden Ridge; two sisters, Helen Roberts and Marie Bates of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Shelton, Jimbo Parker, Joseph Roberts, Tyron Whitehead, David Whitehead and Heath Parker.
