I-65 reopens

The northbound lanes of Interstate 65 between Exit 328 (Hartselle) and Exit 334 (Priceville) reopened to traffic after being closed for 10 days due to a landslide.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution as ALDOT continues working in the area of the slide. A concrete barrier will separate traffic from continuing work.

Northbound, permitted loads over 12 feet must exit I-65 at Exit 310 (State Route 157) and follow the approved route displayed on their printed permit.

For travel information, motorists may tune their radios to the Highway Advisory Radio System (HARS):

• Near Mile Marker 312 – 1650AM

• Near Mile Markers 315 and 317 – 1670 AM

Work to repair an eroded 500-ft. shoulder on the highway was begun Feb. 13 and was expected to take two weeks to complete. Meanwhile, all northbound traffic has been detoured to Highway 31 and Highway 36 in Hartselle.
