Newman, Baker to wed
Robert and Annette Newman of Eva announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Nicole Newman of Brookwood, to Justin “Clint” Baker, son of Tim and Minnie Baker of Priceville.
The bride-elect is a 2202 graduate of A.P. Brewer High School and a 2004 Wallace State Community College graduate with an associate’s degree in diagnostic imaging. She is currently attending The University of Alabama majoring in biology and pre-med. She was Phi Theta Kappa president at WSCC and is a member of the UA chapter of Alpha Epsilon, Delta Honors Society.
She is the granddaughter of William and Mozelle Childers of Eva and Gean and Lois Newman of Lyons, Kan.
The groom-elect is a 2000 graduate of A.P. Brewer High School and a 2006 graduate of South Eastern School of Real Estate. He is an active member of Point Mallard Parkway Baptist Church. He is the grandson of the late Cyrus “Jackie” and Lillian Baker and the late Carl and Echtyl Orme.
The wedding will be Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. in the Eva holler.
Dunn, Taylor to wed
Dennis and Debbie Dunn of Oxford announce the engagement of their daughter, Candace Dunn, to Kendall Andrew Taylor, son of Dwight and Pat Taylor of Gardendale and formerly of Hartselle.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of George and Beverly Dunn of Phenix City and Edward and Lori Gauthier of Phenix City. She is a 2002 graduate of Oxford High School and is currently pursuing a degree in graphic design at Jacksonville State University. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota women’s music fraternity and the Chamber Winds Musical Performance Ensemble.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late James and Jean O’Hare of Albany, Ga. and Lin and Sue Taylor of Pine Mountain, Ga. He is a 1995 graduate of Walker High School. He played in the Marine Corps Band for four years and attended Christ for the National Bible College. He is a 2006 graduate of Jacksonville State University with a bachelor of arts in history. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha musical fraternity and Phi Alpha Theta history honor society.
The wedding is planned for Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. at Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Anniston.
Lusk, Bremmerman to wed
Randy and Sharion Lusk of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Bethany Renae Lusk, to Phillip Lyle Bremmerman, son of Larry and Cathy Bremmerman of Hayden.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Hartselle High School and The University of Alabama where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She is a member of Alpha Zeta Alumni Chapter and is employed with UAB Health Systems.
She is the granddaughter of Harry and Edna Lusk of Sy;acauga, the late Waldon Casey Blythe, the late Glenda Blythe Edwards, and the late John Thomas Edwards.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Hayden High School and Wallace State Community College. He is employed with UAB Health Systems. He is the grandson of Edith Bremmerman and Sue Warden of Hayden, the late William Bremmerman and the late John Thomas Edwards. He is the great grandson of Orel Hays of Hayden.
The wedding will be Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hartselle.
Pevahouse, Floyd to wed
Darryl and Patricia Pevahouse of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Lynn Pevahouse, to Michael Derek Floyd, son of Mike Floyd of Sevierville, Tenn. and Freda Floyd of Clinton, Tenn.
The bride-elect is a 2004 Christian home school graduate. She is the granddaughter of Everine Patterson and Alta Pevahouse, both of Hartselle, the late James Patterson and the late William Pevahouse.
The groom-elect is a 1998 graduate of Covenant Christian High School. He is the grandson of Evan and Dorothy Claxton of Sevierville, Tenn.
The wedding will be Sept. 9 at Forest Hill Baptist Church in Somerville.
