Rosa Nell Summerford

Funeral for Rosa Nell Summerford, 96, of Hartselle was Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m. at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with her son-in-law, the Rev. James Rupp, and the Rev. C. G. Redding officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Summerford died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, at her residence. She was born Aug. 7, 1910, in Winston County to Lemuel Strickland and Mary Celestia Freeman Strickland. She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church for 57 years and taught an adult Bible class for many years.
She is survived by a son, Leonard Summerford of Hartselle; five daughters, Bernadine Bracken of Hartselle, Nadine Rupp of Tucson, Ariz., Gladys Tatum of Decatur, Watha Foot of Athens and Dianne Papenburg of Opelika; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ricky Bracken, Michael Bracken, Alan Tatum, Daniel Papenburg, Justin Hill and Jonathan Bracken.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of North Alabama, 2720 Governors Drive, and Suite A, Huntsville, AL 35805.
