Rubye Simpson

Funeral for Rubye Simpson, 82, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Redmond officiating.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Simpson died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born July 21, 1924, in Franklin County to James Clarence Stone and Eva Dixie (Lawler) Stone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Simpson.
Mrs. Simpson was an active volunteer in numerous Hartselle civic and community affairs. She was a lifetime member and past president off the John F. Thompson Post 52 American Legion Auxiliary and a longtime member of the Rainbow Garden Club and the Booklovers Club. She was an avid supporter of the Hartselle High School Band and the Cub Scouts and Boys Scouts of America. She also was an avid bridge player, was devoted to her many friends and was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a son, Charles Michael Simpson of Arlington, Va.; a daughter, Karon Savanne Howard and husband Kevin of Hartselle; three grandchildren, Andrew, Savanne and Auston Howard, all of Hartselle; and a sister, Patsy Stiles of Tuscumbia.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends, Wendell Batchelor, Keith Holbrooks, Ty Batchelor, Allen Underwood, Marlin Posey and Jerry Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers were Mark Holdbrooks and Jay Posey.
