Harvey F. Segars Sr.

Funeral for Harvey F. Segars Sr., 79, of Hartselle was Friday, August 11, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Segars officiating.
Burial was in Forrest Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Segars died Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born August 14, 1926, in Morgan County to Frank Segars and Carrie Skipper Segars. He was a lifelong resident of Hartselle and a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle. He was a veteran of World War II where he served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. He was an avid fisherman who found great joy in his children and grandchildren. He was a 50-year retired employee of United Stage Equipment Co. and was preceded in death by four brothers, Earnest, Carl, Ted and Odel Segars, and a sister, Annie Grace Kyker.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Owens Segars; four sons, Harvey Franklin Segars Jr. and wife Julia of Anniston; Michael Wayne Segars and wife Marlena of Hartselle, Joe Edward Segars and wife Rosa of Decatur and Tommy Glenn Segars of Gulf Shores; two brothers, Leon Segars of Meridian, Miss. and Harold Segars of Hartselle; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joey Segars, Todd Segars, Angie Segars, Stephanie Segars Forsythe, Timmy Segars and Jennifer Segars.
