ADEM: Burn ban remains in place

The Alabama Department of Environmental Management is reminding residents of Morgan County that its open burning ban remains in effect through October. That's a month longer than the previous summer open burning restrictions.
ADEM issued the ban to combat the formation of ground-level ozone. Before this year, ADEM's open burning regulations ran from May through September. Due to dry weather this year, they have been extended through October.
