June 15, 1956 -Hartselle resident Richard Kyker is now a patient at Decatur General Hospital.
June 16, 1956 -Dr. Bluitt Landers, Jr., recently a resident of Chattanooga, came to Hartselle today to be with his mother, Mrs. Bluitt Landers, Sr. Mrs. Landers is a surgical patient at Birmingham's University Hospital and Dr. Landers will remain as long as necessary. After leaving he will go to Philadelphia to take a year-long course in neurosurgery.
June 17, 1956-Workers at Cole Springs, east of Falkville, are putting in long hours to get ready for the opening of 4-H camp in a few days.
June 17, 1956 -Dr. James S. Martin, prominent local optometrist, will relocate his practice to more spacious quarters in the near future.
June 18, 1956 -The Strand (soon to be the Rodeo) Theatre is getting a $50,000 interior overhaul and redecoration. A new cry-room has its own speaker so that the baby tender can keep up with the picture if she can hear the sound above her babe.
June 19, 1956 -Jimmy Johnson, a 14-year-old Hartselle resident, died in a tragic accident this afternoon close to the old Tabernacle Road. The .22 caliber rifle Jimmy was carrying discharged fatally into his left eye when he stumbled while hunting in very rough terrain.
June 20, 1956 -The new $120,000 Hartselle municipal building was dedicated today. Troy L. Nunn, a member of the city council and currently the grand master of all Alabama Masons, laid the cornerstone. (A tape recording of this event was donated to the city archives by this writer about 20 years ago.)
June 20, 1956-Billy Lindsey, 17, of Hartselle was injured this morning when his 1942 Jeep collided with a 1953 Plymouth driven by Erbie Eddy who resides on Danville 3. The wreck occurred on the Danville and Trinity Road while neither vehicle was going at a high rate of speed. Billy was traveling at about 20 mph and Erbie's speedometer registered 45-50 mph. Each car sustained about $250 in damages.
June 21, 1956 -Dean Jones, a talented young actor with strong Hartselle ties, arrived home today along with his wife and their beautiful daughter. Branching out from the movies, Dean recently recorded his first disc, "Tennessee Rock and Roll."
