Funeral for Billie Charles Martin, 71, of Decatur was Friday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Todd Evans and the Rev. Marty Steelmon officiating.
Burial was in Forrest Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Martin died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at his residence. He was born Dec. 11, 1933, in Morgan County to Wallace H. Martin, Sr. and Atha Legg Martin. He was retired from Cagle Tire Center as a Class A Mechanic. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he served in the Air Force. He was a member of VFW Post 4190. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Wayne Martin and step-father, John H. Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Stephenson Martin of Decatur; two daughters, Lisa Hancock and Cheryl Glaze, both of Decatur; three brothers, Wally "Sonny" Martin of Terry, Miss., Hal "Pedo" Crewell of Hartselle and Larry Martin of Trinity; three sisters, Katrina Martin and Brenda Byrd, both of Hartselle and Freda Watkins of Bogart, Ga.; and six grandchildren, Ashley Glaze, Drew Glaze, Chris Hancock, Ben Hancock, Emily Hancock and Savannah Hancock.
Pallbearers were Ray Glaze, Chris Hancock, Ashley Glaze, Josh Howard, Drew Glaze and Ben Hancock.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, Decatur, AL.
