Travis W. Asherbranner

Funeral for Travis W. Asherbranner, 85, of Danville was Monday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, south of Danville, with Bro. Danny Compton and Bro. Glenn Woods officiating.
Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Asherbranner died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at his residence. He was born Dec. 13, 1919, in Lawrence County to James Noah Asherbranner and Lillian Elizabeth Green Asherbranner. He worked in production at Wolverine for 32 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from Nov. 22, 1942 to Feb. 15, 1946. He was an Airplane Crew Chief and received the American Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal, and was a Carbine Sharp Shooter in World War II.
He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Asherbranner was a life-long deacon and Sunday School teacher at Friendship Baptist Church in Danville. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Evie Hill, Lois Sanford, and Vera Turrentine.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Grace Vest Asherbranner of Danville; two sons, Joe Asherbranner and wife Shirley of Hartselle and Jimmy Asherbranner and wife Mary of Danville; one daughter, Patricia Hogan and husband Ron of Danville; six grandchildren, Beth Morris, Jason Asherbranner and wife Cami, Joshua Hogan and wife Kelly, Benjamin Hogan, Daniel Hogan and Logan Asherbranner; and four great-grandchildren, Cason Asherbranner, Jessica Morris, Keaton Hogan, and Kameron Hogan.
Pallbearers were Benjamin Hogan, Jason Asherbranner, Logan Asherbranner, Joshua Hogan, Daniel Hogan and Tracy Hill.
Honorary pallbearers were Doyce McLemore, Gary Sartin, Milton Chaney, J.W. Stisher and John Carpenter.
