Alvigene Sanford

Funeral for Alvigene Sanford, 81, of Decatur will be Fri., Aug. 26, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Francis Proctor officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, south of Danville.

Mrs. Sanford died Mon., Aug. 22, 2011, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Kentucky to William Franklin Prater and Sindy Bishop Prater. She was a member of South Decatur Church of God and was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Sanford.

She is survived by a son, Gerry Sanford and wife Judy of Falkville; three sisters, Doris Ives of Wichita, Kan., Bonnie Colburn of Hartselle and Helen Clariday of Jonesboro, Ark; a grandson, Sandy Sanford and wife Christine of Decatur; and three great-grandchildren, Peyton Sanford, Halie Sanford and Ethan Sanford.

Pallbearers will be David Prater, Kenny Sanford, Carl Sanford and Jared Vickers.
