When Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® opened in Hartselle in January, the welcome from the neighbors was heartwarming. As the store team became more familiar with the community, it realized that both the Hartselle Historical Society and Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce are key reasons why Hartselle has been named one of the “100 Best Small Towns in America.”

In support of these two organizations, Cracker Barrel donated $1,500 to the Historical Society and two of its signature rocking chairs to the Chamber of Commerce on Aug. 8.

The historical Society plans to use the money to help fund its next “Down Memory Lane” Depot Days program entitled “Morgan—A Divided County.” The event is based on the Civil War and will be presented at the Hartselle Fine Arts Center on Sept. 12.

Chamber President Susan Hines said the oak rockers will be kept in The Depot and made available for public use.
