The Morgan County Drug Task Force has conducted six meth lab busts over the last week, many of which involved the endangerment of a child.

On July 27, four Morgan County residents were arrested on drug-related charges following investigations at homes in Danville and Falkville.

According to a press release, the Morgan County Drug Task Force conducted a child welfare check at 56 Betterton Road in Danville, while simultaneously serving a narcotics arrest warrant at 83 Roberts Road, a neighboring residence that was involved with the child welfare complaint.

Two children were present at 56 Betterton Road, where the father, Louis Carlton Hill, 44, 56 Betterton Road was arrested and charged with manufacturing first degree and drug endangered child. His bond was set at $5,000.

Timothy Wayne Brown, 37, was arrested at 83 Roberts Road and charged with manufacturing first degree, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond has not yet been set.

“Agents discovered eight one-pot methamphetamine laboratories inside and outside the residence, along with drug paraphernalia,” Sheriff Ana Franklin said.

Clifford Barbee, 29, and Robin Barbee, 22, both of 172 East Lacon Road in Falkville were arrested and charged with manufacturing first degree and drug endangered child. Their bonds have not yet been set.

On Monday, Chadrick Wilson NeSmith, 29, and Tasha Swafford Allison, 27, were arrested and charged with unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine first degree and chemical drug endangerment to a child pending.

Both suspects are being held at the Morgan County Jail. NeSmith is being held on a $100,000 bond and Allison’s bond is set at $25,000.

Two more residents were arrested in connection with a meth lab bust in Lacey’s Spring Tuesday. They were Byron Samual NeSmith, 22, and Amber Nicole McBride, 22, both of Lacey’s Spring. McBride was charged with the chemical drug endangerment of a child. Authorities in Madison County are investigating possible illegal purchases of ephedrine.

Byron NeSmith faces charges of unlawful manufacturing of meth 1st degree, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of chemical drug endangering of a child and receiving stolen property first degree. No bond has been set and both suspects are in the Morgan County Jail.

The sheriff’s department has rescued 11 children during the meth lab raids.
